Project Update - Week of July 11th 2022

Please see the below project update and list of activities scheduled for the week of 7/11.

  • The site contractor shall continue their cut to fill effort of the onsite soil materials at the new track & field area of the project site.   The applicable project consultants shall be onsite to witness these work activities.  
  • Exporting excess materials from the site shall continue this week. 
  • Continue construction of the retaining wall #7 adjacent to the new athletic track.  The retaining wall block materials shall continue to be delivered to the site next week. 
  • Continue with the installation of drainage piping and setting of drainage structures in the new athletic field.       
  • The site contractor shall continue with the installation of drainage piping and structures in the utility corridor between the existing Florence Roche and Middle School South buildings. 
  • A series of material deliveries are scheduled for the project site next week including but not limited to crushed stone to support retaining wall construction and drainage structures.

  • Continue subgrade prep and construction of the retaining walls adjacent to the new athletic track.  The retaining wall block materials shall continue to be delivered to the site next week. 
  • Continue with the installation of drainage piping and setting of drainage structures in the new athletic field.       
  • The site contractor shall commence and continue with the installation of drainage piping and structures in the utility corridor between the existing Florence Roche and Middle School South buildings. 
  • A series of material deliveries are scheduled for the project site next week including but not limited to crushed stone to support retaining wall construction and drainage structures.
  • Due to the holiday on Monday 7/4 there will not be any work activities on the project site.  Happy Independence Day!

  • The site contractor shall continue their cut to fill effort of the onsite soil materials at the new track & field area of the project site.   The applicable project consultants shall be onsite to witness these work activities.  
  • Exporting excess materials from the site shall continue this week. 
  • Continue subgrade prep and construction of the retaining walls adjacent to the new athletic track.  The retaining wall block materials shall continue to be delivered to the site next week.       
  • The site contractor shall continue with the installation of the sewer piping and structures in the utility corridor between the existing Florence Roche and Middle School South buildings. 
  • Continue and complete the construction of the Drainage Infiltration System #4 located in the new athletic field.  The civil engineer is scheduled to be onsite Tuesday 6/28 to inspect the top of the system which will allow the backfill activity to commence.   
  • A series of material deliveries are scheduled for the project site next week including but not limited to crushed stone to support retaining wall construction and drainage infiltration system components. 

Saturday Work - June 25th 2022

The project will be working on the site this Saturday 6/25/22. Activities will consist of the following: 

  • The site contractor shall continue with the installation of Drainage Infilitration System #4 located in the new athletic field. 
  • The site contractor shall continue with excavation and installation of sewer piping and structures in the utility corridor between the existing Florence Roche Elementary and Middle School South buildings. 

This weekend work schedule has been communicated and coordinated with the Groton Building Department.

Project Update - Week of June 20th 2022

Please see the below project update and list of activities scheduled for the week of 6/20.

  • The site contractor shall continue their cut to fill effort of the onsite soil materials at the new track & field area of the project site.   The applicable project consultants shall be onsite to witness these work activities.  
  • Exporting excess materials from the site shall continue this week. 
  • Continue subgrade prep and construction of the retaining walls adjacent to the new athletic track.  The retaining wall block materials shall continue to be delivered to the site next week.       
  • The site contractor shall commence installation of temporary fencing on Monday 6/20 to support the utility construction between the existing Florence Roche Elementary and Middle School South buildings.  Excavation for utility construction shall follow the installation of the temporary fencing and continue through the week.  The first utility system to be installed shall be new sewer piping and structures.  This work has been communicated and coordinated with the School District and campus Facilities Manager.  
  • Excavation and sub-grade prep for Drainage Infiltration System #4 located in the new athletic field shall commence on Monday 6/20.  The civil engineer is scheduled to be onsite Wednesday 6/22 to inspect the subgrade prep at the bottom of this drainage system.  
  • Lay-out for drainage piping and structures in and around the athletic field shall commence next week.
  • A series of material deliveries are scheduled for the project site next week including but not limited to crushed stone to support retaining wall construction, concrete drainage structures and drainage infilitration system components.
